Espléndido – Port de Sóller

Espléndido – Port de Soller. This is one of the hotels in Port de Soller. Similar to the eateries alongside the port, Espléndido also has a few table on the front. Covered in white table cloths with minimal decoration on the table, elegant glassware and matching beige coloured chairs with the raised platform, I have to say that the place looks very inviting and welcoming for a meal. The whole presentation seems to be in harmony with the port. Read the rest of this entry →

Wan Chai Corner – Gerrard Street, London

Gerrard Street – London’s China Town, boasts many restaurants serving dim sum. Wan Chai Corner serves more or less the usual common dim sum dishes, as well as the chef’s speciality. I could plunged myself into the sofa which looks so inviting accompanied with a large coffee table. Facing the sofa is the impressive wine storage area. Air conditioned, enclosed in a closed-in glass wall with shelves and shelves of wine. It is a feature I would be proud of if I was the owner. Curtains were draped in accordance with the interior decoration. Top Hat is comfortable in a well-mannered, chintzy way, and the staff are polite and charming.

Mangoes from Kuala Lumpur

This is one of my salad conjugations; no recipe – just what is available in the kitchen. We are only going to be in London for a few days and do not want to build up any large amount of food in the fridge. Plus, we would like to revisit our favourite restaurants, reminiscing the days when working in this buzzling city. And hence, a light and flavoursome side dish so that we can both stuff ourselves while still dining out later :) Read the rest of this entry →
